Pray with your heart

In order to understand God and to grow closer to Him, all Christians are called to live a life full of prayer, worship and reading of the Holy Bible. Some Christians might find themselves doing two of the three at the same time, for instance, during fellowship gatherings, we may all be singing gloriously to our Lord Jesus, then somewhere in between that moment, I find myself in deep spiritual prayer. It so happens, that this form of communicating with God is the idea of this post. I believe the shortest time between a problem and a solution, is the time it would take for one to bow their head to pray. Without prayer, a Christian would find themselves spiritually weakened, it’s through God that we receive strength and we connect to Him through prayer.

Many of us only concern ourselves with our own desires, and we are often familiar with:
Psalms 37:4 “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

But what about what God wants, God wants our true inner self:

Psalms 51:6 “Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.”

So when we pray, we pray with everything that is in us. We pray with our hearts. Shut out all distractions of the world by praying in the way that keeps you focused on God.

We may all pray in this way:

  • Close our eyes
  • Clasp our hands
  • Take a deep breath
  • Then pour our hearts out to the Heavenly Father.

May the Lord bless you.

Heart-ful praying!
