Life Without Jesus is a Lamentation

Jerusalem-Destroyed

Lam 2:19 – Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward Him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

Broken fellowship with God is heart wrenching. God had allowed Jerusalem to be brought to a complete desolation by the Babylonians. The passage in verse 4 says that God “bent His bow like an enemy”.

There is a well known verse in the Bible that says “if God is for us, who can be against us?” What happens when He removes His protective arm? Well it is simple, if He’s not for us, anyone can be against us. We see that God is the author of life. And as Christians, obedience and holiness is the call of this new life that Jesus has brought us to. Selfish pride is not pleasing to God; I know I am guilty of this at times. Through my toils this semester I see how imperative it is to cry out to and seek the Lord in prayer. Without a Christ filled life we find ourselves bitter, angry, tired, lazy, anxious and more that are not Jesus’ will for us. Life without Jesus is no life at all but a complete and utter lamentation.
