Risen Lord!

What a wonderful Easter Sunday! Today at service three young folks publicly proclaimed Jesus as their Lord. The three were baptised and shared their testimonies with the congregation. Such wonderful testimonies. Gabriel, one of the three, said that his testimony was not boring. That his testimony begun 2000 years ago on the cross of Jesus. Amen brother! I’m sure the Lord is using these testimonies to stir the hearts of others, to draw others to Him. Our Lord desires not that any live without Him or that anyone to perish, but that everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9) I … Read moreRisen Lord!

Thankful Child of God

Not sure who were God’s chosen instruments to birth this child, but how encouraging is her witnessing!
And said, “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”  Mat 18:3
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Mat 19:14

Everybody’s watching you now

Recently, I’ve had quite a few things on my mind. Dominantly, I’ve been thinking that being a Christian is quite a struggle. The fruit of the Spirit which any true Christian possesses is love which then gives birth to: joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and and self-control. Almost everyday I feel as if I’ve failed to display one or more of these attributes of the one fruit, love (Galations 5:22). This can be quite discouraging. However, it is no reason to give up. Making a mistake doesn’t mean we are without Christ. Though however, when we do wrong our actions … Read moreEverybody’s watching you now

Never alone, spend time with God through prayer

Sometimes we feel so helpless, and we don’t know what to do. We must remember, we’re not alone. Jesus promised not to leave us (Matt 28:20). I pray we remember His wonderful promises.
Look at what’s happening around us. Take a look at the past recent earthquakes. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.html
From quake to quake, there’s war, there’s famine. As Christians, we are strengthened by God when we seek Him in prayer. I am at times guilty of this, not spending quality time with God in prayer. What am I waiting for, what are we waiting for? There’s work to be done. Heavenly Father, may your … Read moreNever alone, spend time with God through prayer

How Great Our Joy

Praise be the Lord in heaven on high! I would love to write more often, however, I can only write only as often as I feel moved or compelled by the Spirit. Today I feel compelled to remind us of the meaning of the word JOY.
J – thou shall love Jesus first
O – thou shall love others
Y – thou shall also love thy self
Sounds familiar doesn’t it? Let’s test this against our foundation, our Holy Bible, inspired by God, written by men of God.

Mark 12:
The Greatest Commandment
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. … Read moreHow Great Our Joy

Press Towards the Mark

Hello folks,
We are now well “settling” into the new year. By settling, I mean where the draft of a  fresh start might be unravelling into a year that looks like it will be full of challenges. Perhaps even more challenging than 2010. If you’re a follower of Jesus Christ, you might be wondering where the Good LORD taking you with all this. The thing is, none of us are going to learn anything or get any closer to God if we’re comfortable all the time. Remember when Jacob wrestled with “a man” (Genesis 32:24); the two wrestled for a while, then at … Read morePress Towards the Mark

Christmas Routine

by Omarie Duberry

It’s just about Christmas again! The season of love, giving, family / friends reunions, family dinners etc. Unfortunately, the significant meaning of Christmas is slowly fading away. I was at service last week when the Pastor presented a point to ponder; “What does ‘Noel’ means?” Christmas in a sense has become somewhat of a routine he says, we often sing these songs during the season not really knowing what they really mean. It struck me then; perhaps you all know what it means or maybe right now you’re doing a search as you read this. Honestly I’ve never thought of  it until last … Read moreChristmas Routine

How do You Smell?

by: Daniel R. Vess
For the longest time, I was afraid to wear deodorant. That was back when it came in a can. On the back of the can was this warning: “Caution: may explode under intense heat.” I could just imagine going out to play basketball in the gym at school and working up an intense heat and having my arm pits explode. How embarrassing as all my teammates watched my arms hurling across the basketball court and missing a free shot. Well, I had to start wearing it if I was to have any … Read moreHow do You Smell?

The Four Wives

Once upon a time, there was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.
He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He’s very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.
He loved his 2nd wife, too. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is … Read moreThe Four Wives
